How long after filing for bankruptcy can I begin rebuilding my credit?

Many of my clients begin rebuilding their credit within months of receiving their bankruptcy discharge. There are many simple ways that you can begin rebuilding your credit to include making your mortgage and car notes on time. In addition, I have another blog where I detail some simple steps in using secured credit cards to your advantage in raising your credit score. It is not out of the question to have your score increased enough to where you can obtain a mortgage within 18-24 months from the bankruptcy discharge date. One final note, I recommend to my clients that they begin reviewing their credit report on a regular basis after they obtain the bankruptcy discharge. If you would like to set an appointment with me to discuss your credit report, feel free to call or email me anytime.
